Sometimes, Anakin looks like he has the weight of the world on his shoulders though he tries to put on an air of confidence and importance when he walks around. In recent days this has gotten harder to do as he tries to cope with his mechanical arm replacement and other issues in his life, making him appear brooding, frustrated and sometimes upset. At such a young age, he's suffering through a lot and it is starting to show.

Personality: Anakin’s personality now to how he was when he was a boy has changed greatly thanks to the influences around him. As a boy, he was a kind and generous soul, intelligent beyond his years and often pondering what was waiting for him past his life as a slave in the stars that brightened his darkest nights. He hated being treated unfairly and was quick to correct Padme Amidala when she called him a slave, reminding him that he was a person and definitely had a name – one that would be remembered by people for the rest of his life.
Being separated from his mother when he left with the Jedi affected him badly however, his friendly nature disappearing in favour of wandering the temple alone with the friends he could guarantee wouldn’t hurt him – the droids he tampered with and built. He developed a fear of loss, of feeling the pain of that separation again and so keeps everyone at a well measured distance. While he has friends, none of them are close, although the one exception to the rule is that of his Master. He strove desperately to ensure Obi-Wan liked him, considering him both a Mentor and a father figure and often as he grew, Obi-Wan’s own self-consciousness about their relationship had a hurtful affect on Anakin though it diminished his respect for his Master none. From this fear, one of Anakin’s biggest traits was born; his loyalty to the people he serves with and the ones he cares about. In that respect he expects back as much as he gives which is always everything he has. As Obi-Wan Kenobi said about him – Anakin is loyal to people, not to principles. He will readily sacrifice himself if it means protecting those in danger, fearing that over his own demise.
His sudden accession from being one of the lowest rungs on the social ladder, to being awed and admired and named as the prophetic ‘Chosen One’ also had a detrimental effect on his personality. Suddenly, he was one of the most important people, who had the potential to be one of the greatest Jedi that ever lived. His natural ability for learning things at a fast pace, and his hard work meant his progress in his training moved at a fast rate – as, unfortunately, did his pride and arrogance. His quick thinking presents new options in situations, and his arrogance that they can work makes him take unnecessary risks. He hates to be lectured or reprimanded for something he feels he knows better and leads to many conflicts with both his Master and the Jedi Council. He remains frustrated with Obi-Wan and the council for not recognising his talents, believing himself to be ready to face the Jedi trials and become the Knight he feels he is.
History:Early Years (Birth to 9 Years Old)
Anakin was born to his mother, Shmi Skywalker, in the year 41.9BBY. His father remains a mystery as Shmi herself is unaware of how he was conceived. It has been rumoured, due to his off the charts midi-chlorian count, that he was created by the force itself. It is unknown if he was born on Tatooine or another planet, as Anakin himself only remembers the desert planet from Age 3. It was at this age that he and his mother fell into Slavery to Gardulla the Hutt and then, many years later, was lost in a podracing bet to become the Slaves of a Toydarian Junk Dealer called Watto. At some point during the years under his servitude, Watto recognised Anakin’s natural talent for mechanics and flying, and against the will of his mother, entered him frequently into pod races. None of these came to any success however, not having won or even finished a race by the age of 9.
Despite being a slave, Anakin demonstrated incredible skill in mathematics and mechanical engineering as well as a brave and adventurous nature beyond his years. Example of his mechanical prowess include his creations of both the protocol droid known as C-3PO and his own podracer, deeming it the fastest one ever, both near completion at the young age of 9. His caring nature also took him on his own daring rescues, not all of them for humans. At the age of just 5, Anakin managed to scale an immense sand dune in order to chase away a herd of bantha from some hunters that were after them, near collapsing from the heat and severe dehydration several times on the way. A couple of years later, he and his friends disguised themselves as Jawa’s in order to sneak into his former owner’s estate to free children that had been captured and imprisoned by Sebulba, who would become Anakin’s despised pod-racing rival.
It would be at age 8 however, that he would accidentally uncover a clue to where his future would lead him. At 8 years old, as he rummaged through one of Watto’s junk heaps, he came across an ancient war droid. Thinking nothing of it, only wanting to recover a holoprojector for Watto, he accidentally activated a disturbing hologram as he worked on it, becoming overwhelmed by screams, cries and shouts of the strange word ‘Sith’. Alarmed, he showed this to the same stranded pilot who told him of the angels on the moons of Iego, who consequently revealed to him the 4,000 year old wrath of the Sith and how they had eventually become their own downfall. He told Skywalker of the belief that just one of these Sith Lords had survived and had extended the order’s existence to the very day.
At 9 years old, fate would turn not only change Anakin’s life irrevocably but also Anakin himself. While working in Watto’s shop, he met the Jedi Knight Qui-Gon Jinn, a teenage girl by the name of Padme Amidala who he would later discover was the Queen of Naboo in disguise, a Gungan called Jar-Jar Binks and the Astromech R2-D2. Inviting them to his and his mother’s home as a sandstorm whipped up, leaving the party unable to return to their stricken ship, it was here Anakin would learn of Qui-Gon’s Jedi status and how they became stranded on Tatooine. Here, Anakin’s kind, compassionate nature urged him to present a solution in the form of a pod-race. Thinking nothing of himself and his mother, he promised that if he won he would turn over the race winnings in order for them to buy the parts they needed to repair their ship and return home. He raced in his own Pod-racer, met with stiff competition from his rival Sebulba, but managed to win not only securing the prize money, but unknowingly winning his own freedom thanks to a bet Jinn had made with Watto prior to the race. However, Watto would not allow Jinn to have both the slaves, so Anakin’s mother would have to remain. He was forced to choose between staying behind with his mother, or leaving with Jinn to be trained with the Jedi – the latter being the path he chose though with the promise he would come back and free his mother. Heading back to the ship with Jinn, they were set upon by a Sith called Darth Maul, helping Jinn escape the battle by running ahead to the ship and alerting them to the attack. After rescuing Jinn, it was here he was first introduced to his future Master – Obi-Wan Kenobi, then Jinn’s apprentice – and bonded further with Padme Amidala, giving her a Japor Snippet he had carved so she would always remember him.
His future became even more uncertain however once he reached Coruscant and faced the Jedi Council. Qui-Gon Jinn firmly believed that Anakin was the prophesised ‘Chosen One’ – the one to finally bring balance to the force, cemented by Anakin’s already impressive display of skills. Qui-Gon requested that, on Obi-Wan’s completion of the Jedi Trials, he be allowed to take Anakin as his next apprentice. The Council however were sceptical about him, and worried that he would not be able to achieve the emotional detachment required of a Jedi – already they were sensing the feelings of fear and anger from the boy, compounded by the sudden loss of his mother in his life. They refused Qui-Gon’s request, and Obi-Wan Kenobi agreed with them. With no way to get back to Tatooine and with no where to stay on Coruscant, Anakin followed his new friends to Naboo. It was here, he would accidentally join in the Battle of Naboo, famously destroying the orbital droid control ship from inside a starfighter he’d never flown before, rendering the droid army inactive and saving the Gungan Army and the planet. The victory was tainted however, as Qui-Gon Jinn lost his life at the hands of the Sith, Darth Maul. Jinn’s dying request however secured Anakin’s future with the Jedi, asking Obi-Wan Kenobi to train Anakin which Kenobi in return promised to do. Subsequently, against the Council’s better judgement, Anakin became Obi-Wan’s apprentice. It was here also, that Anakin started forming a friendship with the newly appointed Supreme Chancellor of the Republic – Palpatine.
Jedi Training and Missions
His entry into Jedi life however did not start out smoothly; neither did his relationship with his new Master. His natural abilities far outshone those of peers his own age and his fear of forming lasting friendships sometimes caused him to be alienated from them, causing him to sometimes use and show off his abilities in less than acceptable means to gain their respect and attention. His mechanical creations were set to pull many pranks around the temple, and he often would give humorous impressions of the lectures his Master would give him. To many Jedi, this signalled a lack of respect for Kenobi when really Anakin simply used it because it endeared him more to his peers. He stated frequently that Obi-Wan was like a father to him, and indeed he worked hard to try and impress him. Due to Kenobi’s own doubts about his ability to train Anakin successfully though, their relationship remained complicated and contradictory which was something that helped little with Anakin’s training. Frustrated, the young boy turned to Chancellor Palpatine for guidance who would frequently fuel his pride and contradict Kenobi’s discipline, telling Anakin he was right giving the young boy no reason to change his behaviour. The relationship between Master and Padawan would eventually grow through his adolescence, however this early development has done much to mould Anakin into who he is presently.
As evidenced before, Anakin didn’t lose his love for all things mechanical with his move to Coruscant and craved more the thrills and adventure he had encountered on Tatooine in pod racing and his various childhood exploits. At age 12 however, that craving turned deadly when he built himself a pair of race wings and participated in dangerous and illegal garbage pit races in the lower levels of the galactic city. He came close to being killed in one of these races before Kenobi could reach him. It wasn’t long after this, that Anakin and Obi-Wan were sent on their first mission together, just three years into his Jedi Training. It would be the mission after their first however, that would prove just how strong Anakin could be when he lost control. Kenobi and Skywalker were sent to try and find Jedi Knight Vergere, who had disappeared on the living planet Zonama Sekot. During the mission, Anakin was set upon by Wilhuff Tarkin’s bodyguard who attempted to kill him, only for Anakin to burst into a fit of uncontrollable rage and telekinetically burn him from the inside out.
In 28 BBY, Age 13, Anakin finally got to construct his own lightsaber in the caves of Ilum. During its construction, his concentration led to a dark vision of the Sith who had killed Qui-Gon Jinn – Darth Maul. After defeating this spectre, he awoke from the meditative trance to find the construction completed. Not long after, he and Obi-Wan were on a mission on Nar Shadda when Anakin ended Siri Tachi’s undercover mission there by killing T’surr slave trader, Kryan and allowing all his slaves to be freed.
This would not be the last time they encountered Tachi, as in the same year the duo were called upon to help a large group of Jedi and their padawans on a mission to Radnor – Siri Tachi & Ferus Olin, Soara Antana & Darra Thel-Tannis and Ry-Gaul & Tru Veld. They were to help with the evacuation of the planet due to a deadly toxin leak, caused by a bad chemical leak. After much investigation, the group found the leak to be connected with the Avoni Raiders and a traitorous Rodnoran called Galen. While Galen was taken into custody, the Raiders weren’t brought to any justice, leading Anakin to believe the planet was worse off than when they found it.
Searching for the Consular Class space cruiser – The Radiant IX – would be the pair’s next mission as it had been carrying two Jedi bound for Coruscant to be punished for falling to the dark side; Et Rex and Alysun Celz. They discovered that during the flight, mynocks had attacked the power couplings causing the ship to lose power and be pulled into the Hoth System’s gravity well, crashing on an asteroid called the Poison Moon. A distress call was sent out even as Cez murdered everyone on the ship, though later when found by Skywalker and Kenobi, would place the blame on Rex. Anakin was left to guard Cez while Kenobi went to find out the truth, only to find on his return that Cez had been trying to convince Anakin to leave his Master, hitting him with force lightning in her anger when he refused. After a lengthy battle between Kenobi and Cez, the Jedi left on Anakin and Obi-Wan’s ship, with Cez as their prisoner.
One of the more important missions, in relation to how Anakin came to view the galaxy, was on a mission to Barlok where Obi-Wan and Anakin were to mentor Jedi Knight Jorus C’baoth and his Padawan Lorana Jinzler in negotiations between the Corporate Alliance and the Barlok. Behind the scenes however, Kinman Doriana was working on behalf of Darth Sidious to ensure the negotiations went particularly in C’baoth’s favour to gain him enough prestige for his project, Outbound Flight. The duo were sent again to observe C’baoth on this, but Kenobi did not approve of the self-proclaimed Master overseeing it, frequently butting heads with him over it. C’boath would not listen and were pleased when the pair finally disembarked on Roxuli – the Flight’s last stop. Despite these problems however, Skywalker had nothing but admiration for C’boath as he saw him as an example of a great leader, putting into place the views that would shift his views later of a better galaxy under Palpatine.
Ragoon-6 would bring Tachi and Olin back to team up with the duo as they became tangled up in a situation with a man who seemed to spend all of his time trying to kill them. It was supposed to be a simple training mission, research revealing the man hailed from Nierport VII, collected sith artifacts and oddly was very wealthy despite having no viable source of income. Anakin and Obi-Wan were then dispatched to the Galactic Games in order to keep the peace, where Anakin discovered the set up of an illegal podrace where, instead of reporting it, decided he would join in. Little did he know that the race was rigged by a man called Maxo Vista who planned to have the lead racer’s pod brakes malfunction, and possibly kill hundreds of people, all to ruin a few senators’ careers by framing them in the plot. Kenobi found out about this, and tried to warn Anakin but got there too late. Thankfully, when his brakes malfunctioned, Anakin was able to control his pod with the force and his natural piloting skills alone and avert the tragedy. Skywalker however was then captured by the man that was trying to kill them, Granta Omega, who revealed he was trying to impress a Sith Lord by killing Skywalker. Master and Padawan both escaped, but Omega slipped from their grasp.
In 27BBY, at age 14, Anakin’s fast growing abilities and natural talents as a Jedi were demonstrated again on a mission to investigate a senator’s son’s disappearance. It was believed that it had something to do with the school he had attended, thus Anakin and Siri Tachi’s padawan Ferus Olin – who had become somewhat of a rival for Anakin - were set with the mission of penetrating the school on Andara by posing as Senator’s sons. Anakin found it easy to locate the group in question and gained their trust, deciding to join them in a mock attack on a Senator’s ship. Olin protested the idea, which Anakin dismissed, and failed to report to his Master when Olin subsequently went missing. It wasn’t until the last second that Anakin realised the attack was very much real and was led by Gillam Taturi – the missing son. With no time to warn Kenobi of the attack, and Taturi declaring Anakin had to die for the plan to work, Anakin performed a feet of skill equal to some Jedi Masters. He not only disarmed Gallam, but the rest of the members whilst shutting down the lasers of the starfighter the group had been counting on using, plus destroying ten attack droids. By the time Kenobi arrived, with Siri and Ferus, Anakin had finished. The display of sheer skill left Kenobi unnerved, but instead of encouraging and nurturing his talent, turned his and the High Council’s fury on Anakin, highlighting the fact that Anakin had not informed them that Ferus had gone missing. This was the first time that Kenobi shouted at his padawan and it caused a bigger gap between the pair, Kenobi telling his apprentice that it was not easy being a Master and that ”If you do that every time we go on a mission we won’t last.”
The next significant mission would be in 26BBY, Age 15, when on a mission to Mawan Jedi Master Yaddle lost her life. It was supposed to be a negotiation mission to bring peace to a gang war that was devastating the city between three different organisations, causing the population to move underground. The leaders of the gangs were Decca the Hutt, Feena Shaan and Striker, the latter of which kidnapped Skywalker during the mission and revealed himself to be Granta Omega, trying desperately to persuade Anakin to leave the Order but this time playing on Anakin’s desire to free not only his mother but all the slaves on Tatooine. Thankfully, Anakin’s resistance remained solid but he was then forced to set up a meeting between Omega and Yaddle, she and rest of the Jedi unaware that they had been lured into a planet wide trap. During the meeting, a fatal chemical weapon was released, causing Yaddle to absorb it through the force consequently saving the city of Naatan but sacrificing her own life. Skywalker was devastated, feeling responsible for the death of the High Council member as he set up the meeting and the weapon had intended to kill both him and Obi-Wan Kenobi. This guilt caused intense friction between him and his Master, who felt less than capable of teaching the mischievous and rebellious boy properly.
It wasn’t long before the two were forced to reconcile their differences however, when on a rescue mission in the Uziel system to a planet called Vanquor, they were forced through several trials, including a run-in with a nest of gundarks. Anakin then ran into more trouble when he was influenced by the drug known as ‘The Zone of Self-Containment’ which calmed the minds of most species upon inhalation. Anakin became so docile and happy that he became disinterested in the fact he’d fallen into Zan Arbour’s trap – Arbour being the insane and fanatical scientist who then took him prisoner and created the drug. Obi-Wan managed to rescue his Padawan and sent out a distress signal, which was thankfully picked up by Siri Tachi and her group of Jedi who had been out on a another mission nearby. They picked up the duo from Vanqor, but unfortunately Zan Arbor escaped, not to resurface again until Anakin was 16.
They received information that Zan had reappeared on Romin and so, pairing up again with Siri Tachi and Ferus Olin, they disguised themselves as a band of thieves looking for refuge and made their way to the planet. They soon discovered that Zan had gained an ally in not only the ruler of Romin – Roy Teda – but Obi-Wan and Anakin’s old adversary, Granta Omega. The band of Jedi came close to being captured, when a civil war erupted as the underworld began trying to overthrow Teda, causing both he and Zan Arbor to flee. The trail was not lost however, as the pair had been convinced the Jedi band were indeed criminals, and contacted them in order to find a way off world. It didn’t last long though, as Zan Arbor soon recognised Anakin and Teda was quick to order his men to seize the group. Thankfully, Jedi Master Mace Windu and another team of Jedi arrived and arrested the pair only to set them free later as they knew the two would lead them to the criminal they were really after – Omega. A few weeks later and Anakin and Obi-Wan had managed to trail Zan Arbor and Teda to Falleen where a facility to mass produce Arbors drug – The Zone of Self-Containment – had been set up. As soon as it became apparent they had been found however, Arbor was forced to destroy the facility and once more fled.
This time, Anakin and Ferus Olin were paired together when Arbor’s trail took them back to Coruscant. Anti-Jedi accusations started to make themselves known in the Galactic Senate – started by Sano Sauro and Bog Divinan (a friend of Omega)- in the hopes that they could convince the Senate to lessen or completely dissolve its support of the Order. It was all part of the plan to leak the Zone of Self-Containment drug into the Senate’s vents and assassinate Chancellor Palpatine. Thankfully, Anakin and Ferus managed to halt the assassination attempt, learning along the way how to forget their rivalry and better understand each other. Tragically however, the plan wasn’t uncovered in time to save 21 senators and several other Senate employees from being killed by Teda’s seeker droids – who was then killed by Arbor and Omega as they had no more use for him. The hunt was then on, to find Omega. Ferus Olin was required to stay behind and protect the Senators and Palpatine, sending Anakin, Obi-Wan and Siri off to find the man.
It wasn’t long before the tracking led them to Omega and Zen Arbor’s location on Korriban, and four Jedi Pairs journeyed there to both confront and stop them. The four were Anakin and Obi-Wan, Siri Tachi and Ferus Olin, Ry-Gaul and Tru Veld and Soara and Darra. It was decided while on planet, that the apprentices were to band together and split from the Masters in order that the mission would be better completed, the investigation leading them to the Valley of the Dark Lords. Due to the dark side power that the planet contained, the team of Padawans soon found themselves fighting amongst each other instead of working as the team that was intended and it was here Anakin discovered Ferus Olin was participating in some advanced training. He became extremely jealous of the Padawan and further added to the friction between the group. Caught and halted by numerous traps they would have been able to avoid as a team, the confrontation with Omega was an unmitigated disaster. For Anakin, what followed was one of his most shameful incidents in his time with the order. During the previous fighting, Veld’s lightsaber had become damaged and Ferus stepped in to repair it even though Anakin was by far his superior in the field. Anakin noticed quickly that Olin’s repair job would not hold out, but instead of saying so and volunteering to do the work instead, he kept silent in the hopes he could humiliate Olin later. What actually happened, was far more tragic. During a battle in one of the tombs, Veld’s lightsaber began to malfunction and Olin was quick to switch sabers with him in order to protect him. Darra in return noticed Olin’s compromised position and quickly leapt forward to protect him, but in doing so was riddled with blaster fire and killed. Skywalker, due to his inaction bourn from jealousy, had a hand in her death. Obi-Wan Kenobi would be the one to end Omega’s reign of terror over the Jedi, forced to kill him with a stroke of his blade while Arbor managed once more to elude capture. Olin blamed himself for Darra’s death, and with that hanging over his head, he resigned from the Jedi Order.
At the same age, Obi-Wan and Anakin were next sent on a diplomatic mission to a planet wishing to join the Galactic Republic, where Anakin specifically would discover that thievery was considered a common and important social asset amongst the population when he had his lightsaber stolen. Ashamed of admitting this to his Master, Anakin searched desperately for it on his own but soon came to a point where he had to admit he needed help. Upon asking his Master however, he discovered that Obi-Wan had known all along that the Saber had been stolen and had managed to gain it back using a trick of the force. He was simply trying to teach Anakin a lesson in forcing him to admit to his fault and accept the consequences.
Their last escapade of the year came when they were assigned to protect Senator Simon Greyshade from assassination attempts on his life. His cousin Jheramahd Greyshade had already been thrown from the roof of 500 Republica in an effort to stall the passage of the Financial Reform Act (as he supported it) and now Simon was running for his position as Senator of the Commonality. Now, Simon was receiving death threats himself for supporting the act. Anakin and Obi-Wan, despite coming up again a variety of different attempts including droids, Keluda, a Dug and Princess Tsian, were successful in their efforts even if the passing of the Act was not. Due to the assassination and attempted assassinations being rooted in the Financial Reform Act, it never got a vote and some say this has now caused many seceding planets to break away from the Republic.
At the age of 19, a week before his 20th birthday, Anakin and Obi-Wan were sent to Ansion in order to settle a border dispute, alongside Luminara Unduli and her apprentice Barriss Offee, that threatened to cause the extremely strategic planet to seceded to the CIS as if that planet fell, so could many others follow. While negotiations were successful with the city dwellers to stay within the Republic, they didn’t realise that President Shu Mai of the Commerce Guild, was already pulling the strings that would cause Ansion to secede. Thanks to her, the Jedi found themselves in constant danger of attack by hired killers, and were unable to prevent the kidnapping of Barriss Offee by two Ansionians named Kyakhta and Bulgan. It was Offee’s skill in healing that pulled her out of the predicament though by healing the two killers of their injuries, causing them to become guides for the Jedi to find the nomadic clans so crucial to the negotiations – particularly the Borokii overclan. Managing to evade hazards such as flying chawix, kyren hordes, capture by the Yiwa clan and shanhs, one of their final requirements was to entertain their hosts, but each had to do it in their own individual way. Anakin chose to sing a song, which greatly impressed the Ansionians and eventually the Jedi made contact with the Borokii overclan. After making the Jedi retrieve a tuft of rare albino surepp wool, they agreed to the settlement on the proviso that they helped wage a war against their rivals – the Januul clan. Anakin was shocked when Obi-Wan readily agreed to this, unknowing that his master had a plan. When the battle lines were drawn, the Jedi simply marched out into the middle and refused to fight for either side, calling on both clans to reach a peaceful settlement. Consequently, both sides attacked the group, only to have their assaults deflected and weapons parried, both sides being defeated with no loss of life. Peace ensued between the tribes, allowing the Jedi to travel back to the capital of Cuipernam to inform the Unity Council, who was controlling the planet’s fate, of their success. Thanks to the efforts of the Jedi group, Ansion remains a part of the Republic though President Shu-Mai was not discovered to be a part of the matter due to her status.
On arrival back to Coruscant, and just a day after his 20th birthday, it wasn’t long before Anakin and Obi-Wan were thrown back into action again as an attempt was made on Senator Padme Amidala’s life. Called on by the Chancellor personally to protect her, Anakin soon escorted Padme back to her home world of Naboo where, despite not having seen her for ten years, he admitted his powerful infatuation for her, something which in a very short time blossomed into something far more: Love. It was at Padme’s lake retreat that the pair shared their first kiss, although it wasn’t long before she came to her senses, concerned more with duty and obligation compared to Anakin’s desire to live in the present moment and act on his feelings. She understood their current situations would not allow for a relationship to survive – Anakin’s pursuit of it being in direct violation of the Jedi Code which held that, although Jedi were not required to be celibate, they were to avoid attachment to all but the force itself.
It was here Padme discovered Anakin was suffering nightmares about his mother, Shmi Skywalker, for several months prior to their meeting. Deeply trouble and concerned for his mother’s safety, Anakin went against the spirit of his orders to protect Padme by bringing her to Tatooine so he could find Shmi. It was here that he discovered she’d not only been freed by Watto and had married a moisture farmer by the name of Cliegg Lars, but that she had also been captured by Tuscan Raiders. Immediately he went in search of her, soon finding the Tuskan Camp and the tent that held his mother prisoner, only to find he was too late. Battered, sleep-deprived and dehydrated, Shmi managed to see her son one last time before dying in his arms. Shocked and devastated, her death sent Anakin into a rage, causing him to slaughter all that were present in the camp – including the women and children he would later confess to Padme. So strong was his grief and anger that a number of Jedi, including Yoda and the deceased Qui-Gon Jinn, sensed the shock of the massacre and his powerful force presence which was bordering more and more on the dark side of the force. Bringing his mother’s body back to her home, he later confessed to Padme what had happened in the camp, at first trying to justify his actions. He blamed Obi-Wan for his failure to his mother, stating he was jealous and trying to hold him back and that one day he would be able to stop the people he loved from dying, promising her it would be so. He expressed clearly his hate for the Sand People also, before breaking down in tears and remorse as he remembered he was a Jedi, saying he knew he was better than that.
While on Tatooine, Anakin discovered that Obi-Wan had been captured in his pursuit of the perpetrator behind the attacks on Padme’s life, taken hostage by the Geonosian-engineered Confederacy of Independent System’s droid forces. Initially, Anakin was going to honor Mace Windu’s order to protect Padme’s life by staying on Tatooine, having lost confidence in himself after the episode with his mother. However, Padme was insistent that rescuing his mentor was the right thing to do and they travelled to Geonosis. It wasn’t long after landing on planet though, that both Anakin and Padme were captured too and sentenced to die in a gladiatorial execution arena – Anakin’s lightsaber being destroyed in the process. Faced with their impending fate, they finally confessed their love for one another and shared what they thought would be their final kiss. It was thanks to the intervention of the Jedi and the timely arrival of the new Clone Trooper Army that they, along with Obi-Wan, managed to escape and fight in the ensuing battle. Anakin and Obi-Wan then went on to pursue Count Dooku, mastermind of the Confederacy and – although unknown to them at the time – a sith lord. Catching up with him in a CIS-owned hanger Dooku led them to, Anakin went against the better advice of his Master and charged the Sith lord with a headstrong attitude, only to be hit with a barrage of Force Lightning which left him unconscious and Obi-Wan to face Dooku alone. Despite putting up a valiant fight, Obi-Wan was no match for the more powerful and experienced Dooku and was soon injured to the point he couldn’t participate any longer. Anakin, recovering from the force lightening, watched as Dooku raised his lightsaber to deliver the final blow against the fallen Kenobi. Afraid to lose yet another person he cared about, Anakin called upon the force and leapt forwards and blocked the attack with his own lightsaber, saving his Master’s life before his own duel with the Count ensued. Taking up his Master’s lightsaber, Anakin unleashed a flurry of attacks which at first caught his opponent off-guard, although without more than basic training in Jar’Kai the use of two blades wasn’t good enough to break through Dooku’s guard and the green blade he had borrowed in place of his own, was destroyed leaving him with only his Master’s. Moments later, Dooku’s greater practise and experience with Makashi gave him the upper hand and Anakin not only lost the battle, but also his right arm to the Sith Lord. Yoda then came in to save the pair, although Dooku escaped in the process, and Anakin, Obi-Wan and Padme were all sent back to Coruscant for healing.
A month after all this, Anakin has since had a mechanical prosthetic arm fitted and has spent the month learning how to use it aptly. Kept away from any training, he is eager to return and move his recovery at a faster pace in order to not only re-join Kenobi and start helping in the Clone Wars that now threaten the galaxy, but to find Dooku and exact revenge for the loss of his arm and the dent to his pride. Far from being treated though, are the wounds left over from his mother’s death and his actions against the Tuskan Raiders. He doesn’t know who to turn to, besides Padme, who had kept her distance from him for whatever reason since the battle, so for now is conflicted as to who he is becoming and how his powers are progressing. He wants the power he believes his Chosen One title should give him, enough to stop him losing battles in such a manner again, and to stop the people he loves from dying. He is more determined than ever now to keep Padme in his life, knowing that she feels the same way as he does, and will stop at nothing to ensure she remains by his side. During his time in the halls of healing, often getting bored eaisly when not working on regaining the use of his arm, he often took trips to the Jedi Temple, where he worked solidly on constructing his new lightsaber.
Anakin and Obi-Wan’s Relationship
Despite the ups and downs of their relationship, as evidenced in the aforementioned bio, Anakin maintains that Obi-Wan is like the father figure he never had in his life before and protests constantly that he does in fact admire and respect his Master greatly. They are becoming a force to be reckoned with when they are sent on missions together, and gradually the formality of their relationship has been lost and they remain firm friends. Anakin’s rebellious nature and his constant need to obtain the power he believes he has within him will always mean there are arguments and friction between the pair however, but they are learning constantly about each other and they serious arguments are becoming less and less.
Years of Training: 10 Years as a Padawan to Obi-Wan Kenobi Lightsaber Forms:
Force Powers:
Lightsaber Color: Blue Lightsaber Modifications: Anakin's Lightsaber is designed and built for a Master of Djem-So which he is close to becoming. It is far more powerful than the one destroyed on Genosis as it reflects his sheer skill at mechanical engineering. Being able to keep hold of half of his lightsaber, he managed to keep hold of the Agdean crystal that was in his previous one, now put into the new one. He has built it with modifications better then before, making it a dual-phase saber, with a waterproof casing and a force activated switch. Unlike tradition, Anakin's saber does not resemble his Master's.
