Wat Tambor Male, 55, Skakoan | Play-By: Wat Tambor Name: Wat Tambor Nicknames: N/A Age: 55 Sex: Male Species: Skakoan Home World: Skako, Metalorn Faction: CIS Title: Foreman of the Techno Union; Executive of Baktoid Armor Workshop Rank: Confederacy Council Member Force Sensitive: No
Hair: N/A Eyes: Beady pitch black eyes. Body Shape: Athletic Height: 1.93 meters Weight: 209 lbs Scars, Piercings, Tattoos: N/A Languages:
Speaks and Understands: Basic; Skakoverbal; Sluissese; Verpine
Reads and Writes Binary; Skakoform
Clothing and Armor: Wat Tambor is always seen wearing his pressurized body suit, for without it he couldn’t survive in low pressure environments. The suit consists mainly of a flowing robe that drapes down to his feet, with his torso covered by a silver set of armor which contains the pressurization controls for the suit, which without that Wat would die. The armor continues up around his upper body and ends with a thick mask which only covers his sickly green face, with a vocabulator so he can speak more clearly. Overall the clothing Wat Tambor wears is regal and necessary, showing off his wealth while keeping him alive at the same time. Weaponry: Normally Wat does carry a small weapon for his personal protection, which is the LL-30 Blaster pistol. He keeps the gun concealed right under his robes, which can be quickly produced in a pinch. On one occasion however Wat has been seen using a heavier type of weapon, which was the DT-57 heavy blaster pistol, which was to slay a unwary Clone Trooper who was fighting against some of Wat Tambor’s droids. Other than that Wat really doesn’t use any other weapons, and has learned to become rather accurate with his LL-30.
Besides the ranged weapons, Wat Tambor was also unusually skilled in melee weapons, and was a skilled combatant despite his bulky pressure suit. His suit also has quite a few surprises itself, the most notible being wrist mounted blades which can extend to over a foot in length and are meant for close combat. They can stab, slash, and rend the flesh of his opponents, and are activated by a trigger mechanism in his gloves, but can also be voice activated by saying a certain word in Skakoverbal.
Resources: Being the Foreman of the Techno Union, Wat Tambor has quite a few expensive goods to himself. One of those is his own private Fortress/Estate on the Techno Union world of Saleucami. The estate itself is situated in the side of a small mountain, which is surrounded by a 10 foot high wall and has its own garrison which houses a personal force of 1 AAT, a force of 50 B-1 Battle droids, 25 B-2 Super Battle droids, 10 Droidekas, and 2 T-Series tactical droid advisors. Along with the ground forces, the estate is protected by four anti-air turbolasers, around 10 anti-personal turrets, and a small shield generator which is used as a last resort. Along with those the estate also has an escape tunnel which goes through the side of a mountain to a secret hangerbay which houses Wat Tambor’s own Sheathipede-Class shuttle. Although many would see this is as way overly-protected, Wat Tambor would take no chance if the Republic managed to get to his estate, the defenses alone should hold off quite an attack and give the Foreman enough time to escape.
Besides the estate he also has his own private Battleship, a Munificent-class star frigate dubbed the Industrial Paradigm. Although this craft serves more as Tambor’s research vessel than an attack craft, it does have the basic armament plus a whole starfighter compliment, plus carried about 150,000 deactivated battledroids and various other CIS assault vehicles, such as AATS, Hailfire Droids, Snail Tanks, etc etc etc. The Industrial Paradigm usually orbits the planet Saleucami, and blends in with the CIS defense fleet stationed there, only told apart by its very distinct Skakoform markings. Those are the major things Wat Tambor personally has, and with his massive sum of wealth and the entirety of the Techno Union under his control, he is a very powerful member of the Separatist Council.
Appearance: Wat Tambor stands just over six feet tall, with broad shoulders and a stance that indicates his status and wealth. His skin is a sickly green while his eyes are black as pitch and give a rather intimidating glare. Though he always wears the same outfit he always manages to keep himself clean with a high pressurized chamber in his estate that mimics the pressure of his homeworld, allowing him to remove his armor and properly keep himself neat and tidy. Not much else can be said about his appearance, although to some Wat Tambor can be quite the sight. Regal and deadly, Wat Tambor is a force to be reckoned with. Strengths:
-Tactical Genius: Wat Tambor has proven himself to be a Master Strategist and Tactician. Being able to coordinate multiple forces at once with a very high chance of success, and has constructed his estate according with some of the best strategies to ward off attacks, such as the Anti-personal turrets and the corridor ray shields to entrap enemies.
-Industrialist Power: Being the Foreman of the Techno Union as well as the executive of the Baktoid Armor Workshop, Wat Tambor has the near absolute power over creation of various new droids and vehicles for the Confederacy. This also makes him a valueable member of the Confederacy, for he's the one who supplies them with most, if not all of their vehicles and battle droids.
-Skilled Combatant: Despite on what he appears to be, Wat is a skilled hand to hand and bladed combat even with his bulky suit. He's an even better combatant without his suit, and if he's ever cornered on his ship he can remotely raise the atmospheric pressure on the ship and either kill his attacks with that, or shed his armor and kill them himself.
-Council Member Being on the Separatist Council has it's major advantages, giving Wat Tambor a wide range of Command over the other notible commanders of the CIS, althought he usually doesn't assert much of it and keeps to his own devices. Much like the others he does his own things, but the time comes to be called he'll eagerly arrive to aid the CIS.
-Superb Combat Engineer: At an early age Wat Tambor was recognized by the Techno Union as a magnificent Combat Engineer, for being able to produce and come up with dozens of new combat techniques for their droids. He uses these skills today to make the droids of the Confederacy more lethal, more accurate, and just overall more efficient in combat.
Weaknesses:
-Cowardice: Wat Tambor is a coward, although not truly fleeing at the first sign that things are going sour, he will still hi-tail it and bolt when things go majorly wrong. Which is why in his estate he has an escape tunnel to a private hanger bay, he'd rather escape and live another day then to honorably die.
-Paranoia: Being one of the known enemies of the Republic has made Wat a bit Paranoid, so paranoid infact that he had his entire humanoid staff in his estate replaced by Battle droids which he programmed himself. Removing the fear of being assassinated or betrayed in his own home, for he can rely on droids he himself programmed.
-Pressure Suit: Wat's suit is bulky and is a major target during a battle. If someone was able to hit his suit or (in the case of a force user) crushing or removing it, Wat could die very quickly thanks to the low pressure making the suit more of a liability than an asset. Of course in high pressure area Wat can remove his suit and move around quicker, but there's not alot of places like that in the galaxy.
-Bounty: Not long after the Battle of Geonosis a bounty was placed on all of the Separatist Council member's heads by the Republic, including one on Wat Tambor. He has to deal with attacks from Bounty Hunters looking to cash in on the rather large sum for Wat Tambor, making each day rich with danger.
CIS Publicity: Wat Tambor doesn't want to be commonly known as an open CIS supporter, and does whatever in his power to keep his record clean. Usually this involves some key assassinations and some small raids, but nothing is too much to keep the image of Wat Tambor as the reliable Foreman of the Techno Union, but of course he has been failing to keep that facade... horribly.
Goals:
-Overthrowing the Republic Wat Tambor has gotten tired of the constant Corruption and abuse in the Galactic Senate, and conspires with the CIS to overthrow them. That is why he has allied with others who support this ideal and wish it to become a reality, mostly due to the part of the unfair taxation on Trade routes.
-Expanding his Industrial influence: Wat Tambor has an already considerable influence on many planets, there are always more to industrialize and spread the Techno Union's influence. When he shut down his factories in the Inner Rim he lost alot of profit and customers, so as the war progresses he would contruct and release more to aid the war effort, and to sell to the CIS friendly buyers.
-Profit: The goal of any businessman is get richer, and Wat Tambor is no exception to that. He'll do anything within his power to get wealthier, and uses the Techno Union to do so. Like his Trade Federation and InterGalactic Banking Clan allies, he joined with the CIS knowing if they won the war then their industries would become the most sought after.
Fears:
-Loosing his Industries: Wat Tambor fears loosing his industries all over the Galaxy, for they are his source of income and the production facilities for the CIS. Such as when he lost the one on Geonosis, that was a major loss for the Techno Union and the Baktoid Armor Workshop. So in order to keep these other Industries, he's ordered more OOm Security droids to safeguard them, as well as some of the AAT tanks they produce.
-Failing the Confederacy: One of his bigger fears is failing the Confederacy as a whole. Wat is immensely loyal and devout to the Confederate Cause, and would do anything in his power for it. He knows that if they lost the War he'd either be put away in some far off Republic Prison, or loose his entire industry and go bankrupt, which does not at all set well for the Foreman.
Personality: Wat Tambor is a prideful individual. He's proud of his accomplishments, proud of the Techno Union, proud of what they had done for the CIS. Such as the systems he had set up on various planets, he would not even dare to not advertise their advantages and use them to their full potential. He also cares not for the needs of the common people, and would ignore their demands constantly just for the sake of his own productions. Such things make him unpopular with the normal people of the Galaxy, but he doesn't care. All he cares about is the will of the CIS and his industry.
Wat Tambor is also one of the very religious Skakoan, and one days hopes to ascend to the Power Mound and see his future. Of course he doesn't let that dream cloud his visions of the Techno Union as a whole. Also Wat cares for a rather clean political record, and even after the Battle of Geonosis a few months earlier, he still tries to keep a clean record with the Galaxy . History:
Wat Tambor was born on the planet Skako in the year 77 BBY into the Crimlin Clan. Although born on Skako, Wat Tambor did not stay there long as a youth, and moved to Metalorn to pursue a career in the Technology and Industry business. During this time Wat Tambor was forced to create a high pressurized suit to survive, as the atomosphere of most planets was inhospitable to him. During his time on Metalorn he quickly rose to be known as a prominant combat engineer, and was quickly recognized by the Techno Union, and became their Representative in the Galactic Senate.
The Techno Union began to divert most of it's attention to the creation of Droids, most notible the assault droid caste. Wat Tambor himself had risen higher in the Techno Union seat of power, and had a voice in convincing the Republic to allow itself to be defended by a Droid army. With the Republic's approval, the Techno Union had allied and merged itself with Baktoid Armor Workshop, and began to work on the OOM Battle Droid model, and after a long and tiring process the OOM was created, and mass production began.
The first customer for these droids were infact the Trade Federation, who planned to use them as security droids onboard their Lucrehulk-class cargo freighters for protection against pirate raids. During this time however the Foreman of the Techno Union was assassinated during a trip to Coruscant, and a race for the seat of Foreman began between many of the Techno Union individuals, one of them being Wat Tambor. It wouldn't be another decade before one would finally be chosen.
Over the course of a decade Wat Tambor quickly rose to the position of Foreman of the Techno Union at the age of 44, along with becoming the Executive of the Baktoid Armor Workshop. Along with these positions he was also charged with overseeing Haor Chall Engineering, and supervising the Republic Sienar Systems and Kuat Systems Engineering development labs. In the year 33 BBY, Supreme Chancellor Finis Valorum proposed a Trade Taxation on the known trade routes. Wat Tambor feared that this would severely damage the Techno Union, and moved against it.
A Trade Summit was proposed by Senator Palpatine of Naboo at Eriadu, which gave Wat hope that the taxation would be denied. Yet unforseen events occured, and many Trade Federation officials were assassinated, and the bill passed in the Senate, yet the biggest setback for Wat Tambor wasn't seen until about a year later. In the year 32 BBY, Baktoid saw it's biggest setback when the Trade Federation, the company's biggest customer, used the droids bought from Baktoid to invade the peaceful planet of Naboo.
Many years after the Naboo Crisis, Foreman Wat Tambor secretly joined the Confederacy of Independant Systems with the Trade Federation. Of course the leader of the Confederacy, Count Dooku, needed an army worthy enough to challange the Republic, and Wat Tambor set forth to create a magnificent Droid army. But he had to do this in secret, less the Republic find out beforehand what the Techno Union and Baktoid was doing. So Wat closed down a large portion of his factories and industries in the Inner Rim, and constructed new ones in the Outer Rim, such as the one on Geonosis.
A press release was given by Wat Tambor to satiate the disgruntled shareholders, there were a few that didn't believe Tambor's ploy. Like Senator Lanus Wrede, who hypothosized that Tambor was creating droids in secret in the Outer Rim, but of course the claims were put down because many believed that there was no market in the Outer Rim. The Republic investigated this, but no evidence was found to validate the claims, and not long after the investigations ended Senator Wrede commited 'suicide'. Many said it was foul play on Tambor's part, but there was no clear evidence and Tambor was dropped of all suspicions.
During this time Senator Rodd of the Tapani Sector, the Hutt Groodo, and the droid designer Hurlo Holowan planned to destroy Fondor using the Sun Runner, an ancient Starship which could destroys stars using the strength of Power Gems. Tambor quickly discovered this plot and put a bounty on all three heads, requesting them delivered dead. A Trandoshan Bounty Hunter by the name of Cradossk accepted, whom was also affiliated with the Bounty Hunter's Guild. Unknown to Tambor however, Count Dooku also placed a bounty on the trio's head with the intent of bringing them in alive. The Count contacted Tambor, and after some convincing Tambor called off the original bounty, allowing for the Mandolorian Bounty Hunter, Jango Fett to bring all three into Dooku alive.
Dispite the involvment Tambor had with the Confederacy, it did not hinder him from keeping his hand in Republic Politics. Even going to make a token appearance at a Refugee Relief Movement funraiser on Alsakan. Along with Tambor, other secret CIS Council members in attendance were Passal Argente and Nute Gunray, Magistrate of the Corporate Alliance and Viceroy of the Trade Federation respectively. Also at the funraiser was Supreme Chancellor Palpatine, who in secret was the Dark lord of the Sith, Darth Sidious, which remained unknown to Wat Tambor.
Knowing full well Count Dooku would soon reveal the Confederacy to the Republic, Tambor had his factory on Foerost reinforced with a security force of 40,000 Battle droids. Knowing that when conflict erupted, that factory would be a target for the Republic due to it being within the Deep core. Although the Republic was wary about the sudden increase in security, Tambor still allowed government figures to continue the regular inspecitions of the droid facility, which seemed to please the Republic to some degree.
In the year 22 BBY the entire CIS Council held a meeting on Geonosis to re-pledge their alliance with Count Dooku. Unknowing to the Council, the Jedi Knight Obi-Wan-Kenobi followed the Bounty Hunter Jango Fett to Geonosis, and was soon caught sneaking around the Baktoid Factory. Not long after the Jedi Padawan Anakin Skywalker and the Naboo Senator Padme Amidala were caught doing the same thing, and all three were scheduled for Execution. Before they could be slain however, a whole infiltration force of Jedi Masters intervened and saved them, followed shortly by an entire army of Clone Troopers.
The Battle of Geonosis had begun, and the CIS Council Members quickly ordered an evacuation of all droid armies. The thousands upon thousands of Droid forces were loaded up onto Lucrehulk-class Core Ships and Techno Union Hardcell-Class interstellar transports. In the end the Separatists were routed, but the vast majority of the army escaped offworld, and soon after the newly formed Grand Army of the Republic was mobilized for War, and the Clone Wars erupted. Tambor abandoned his estate on Metalorn and constructed a new one on Saleucami.
