daniel james kipper male, 21, jedi | Play-By: Drew Roy Name: Daniel James Kipper Nicknames: Dan, Danny, Kipper, Twinkle Toes, DJ Age: 21 Sex: Male Species: Human Home World: Daniel was born and raised on Coruscant Faction: Jedi Title: Jedi Knight Knighthood: Sentinal Rank: Jedi Specialist
Hair: Daniel has short brown hair, he is clean shaven and plans on remaining so. Eyes: Daniel has chocolate brown eyes that are renowned for giving away his emotions. Body Shape: Athletic Height: 6'4 Weight: 200 lbs Scars, Piercings, Tattoos: location and description Languages: Daniel's mother tongue is Galactic Basic Standard, it is the one language he has used, having spent the whole first five years or so of his life within the walls of the Jedi Temple. During his time spent as a padawan to the late Jedi, Skyan Tryrott, he can understand Boolean and can speak some Huttese without the use of the force. Clothing and Armor: The majority of the time, Daniel wears the neutral tunic and pants that distinguishes Jedi from the majority of the Republic population, adopting the darker brown cloak when he feels need for it. The dark belt at his waist serves as a storage medium for his gear (eg. His breather and lightsaber). The only time he substitutes the neutral colors is when on a sniper mission for the Nineteenth Brigade in which he adopts an outfit which blends in more with the environment. Weaponry: Like most Jedi, Daniel's first weapon of choice is his lightsaber Which he built approximately two years ago after his last lightsaber had refused to work after going for a "swim" on a mission (also known as he didn't have it clipped onto his belt properly while on Naboo and it fell into a lake, never to be seen again).
If for some reason he were to be stripped of his lightsaber or if he were to leave the order, his second weapon of choice would be a blaster, having shown great skill in his aim during his years as a youngling.
Resources: Daniel has his own room within the Jedi Temple. It is your fairly standard room that is equiped with a sleep couch, shelves, and a desk. Upon his desk sits a small orange heat stone in the shape of a turtle. This was a gift to him by Skyan on his thirteenth birthday. Upon his desk is also a holograph of him and Skyan when they were first announced as master and padawan.
Appearance: Daniel stands at the almighty height of six foot four, weighing slightly overweight at two hundred pounds. But don't worry ladies, due to Daniel's active role with the Jedi that two hundred pounds is pure muscle. He has an athletic build, complete with a two pack of abs.
His short chocolate brown hair was handed down to him by his father, a consistency known throughout the Kipper family alongside his inherited habit of running his long fingers through his contrastingly short brown hair. His kind chocolate brown eyes however are a testament to his mother.
As a Jedi, he has mastered controlling the emotions that could be seen upon his face, this however doesn't prevent the emotions from reflecting within these eyes Strengths: - Aiming with a blaster
This is Daniel's calling. Many often joke that its the fighter pilot within him. But he knows that, had he for some reason hadn't been discovered by the Jedi, then he'd have discovered this strength later in life or followed a career involving blasters. It is this skill with a blaster that has earned him a spot leading the 19th Battalian's sniper group.
- Form VI
It wasn't until his years as a padawan that he discovered a natural ability in Niman. Unlike the other forms he found this one the easiest to learn, flowing from form to form with apparent ease.
- Calm under pressure
This is more a personality trait of Daniel's. While clones may be freaking out because someone kept avoiding their shots, Dan would keep a level head, tune out their winging and track his targets movements. Its this ability to keep calm under pressure that gets him through most sticky situations.
- Maintanance work on Blasters
During his last year of being a youngling, Dan became obsessed with blasters. And so he spent the majority of his free time in the archives, learning blasters from the inside out like the back of his hand.
- Determined
Daniel's determination pushes him to do everything in his power to prevent his fears from occurring and to ensure that his goals come true. This determination acts at motivation and increases his drive.
Weaknesses: - Overly Trusting
One downside is that Daniel is a little too trusting. I guess you can say that he's quite gullable. For he'd take anyone's word, believing that everyone lives to the moral that is the Jedi Code.
- Balance
He can be rather clumsy, despite his seventeen plus years of training. In fact he's probably one of the clumsiest Jedi Knights you shall ever meet.
- Can't keep emotions out of his eyes
Although he is able to keep his emotions off of his face, they make their way into his eyes. In fact, a very select few are able to tell if he's twisting the truth through a specific sort of twinkle in his eyes.
- Learning new Languages
Of all things mental, this is the toughest for the twenty-one year old. For some reason he finds it difficult to memorize the weird motions that his tongue makes when learning a new language.
- Can't walk quietly in a forest
For some reason, the Jedi Knight is unable to be sneaky. This is most likely from his childhood with a mixture of his clumsiness. He is just unable to wander through a grove of trees without snapping a twig or making some other sort of noise.
Goals: - To never lose someone he cares for... again
Having lost a long term friend, and a fatherly figure during the battle of Genosis, Daniel strives to ensure that this never happens to him again. Because this time, he wont be sure if he'll pull out of the downward spiral known as greif this time around.
- To become a Jedi Master
This is an understandable goal for many Jedi. Daniel simply strives to be the best he can be, without overstepping Yoda's reigns.
- To never give in to the Dark Side
Fears: - Losing to the Separatists
Daniel has already lost one of those closest to him. He doesn't want the separatists to win and be forced to go through it all again. He also fears what it could mean for him if he lives through the war that the separatists have won.
- Falling from high places
This has been a fear of Daniel's ever since he was five years old. This fear is no longer as dominant as it has been before he was knighted (having faced it in his Trial of Spirit), at one point in time however it would have frozen him in place. To this current place in time, it causes his hands to shake.
Personality: Daniel has shown flashes of being rather intelligent. This has been seen through his years as both a padawan and a youngling. It was primarily seen in the game that all of the new padawans play before being placed in the care of their Jedi Knights as he often suggested strategies that their team could use (not all of which were used within the game) and he suggested more strategies on the fly when the chosen one didn't work.
Daniel is also very loyal to his friends. In most if not all situations you were better off having two or three injured friends and teammates than having two or three dead teammates. In fact he would never betray them, he wouldn't be able to bring himself to it as he'd rather die than betray those that trust him.
Courage. This is the one true trait that link all Jedi. The Jedi are essentially the police and military force of the galaxy and in order to complete the missions they are sent on they require this trait. In some this trait bloomed late, in others- like Daniel- its there to draw upon from a young age.
He's determined to reach his goals. Whether his goals are the most sought after dream like mastering all the lightsaber forms or a clear goal like finishing a mission alive, he'll give it 200%. He won't give up no matter how many times he's knocked off his feet in pursuit of the goals.
Leadership. This is one of the few qualities that everyone posses. However many don't know how to harness it. Kaito posses a bit more of this trait than many, yet is one of the hundreds who are unable to put it to use. He lives his life by the Jedi code, and with integrity as he believes that you can't expect someone to do the right thing if you yourself are not History: A New Force Sensitive Twenty one years ago, in one of Coruscant's numerous apartments, Daniel Kipper was born. His parents were simple civilians whom had midichloran counts. His mother had been a nurse and his father was a pilot who flew various bits of cargo around the galaxy.
It was one week after his blood test that they came. His father had been away, his mother, slaving over him changing his dirty diaper when a Mon Calamari (by the name of Tonel)dressed in Jedi robes rang the doorbell. Quickly finishing the task at hand she made her way to the door, Cordially inviting the Jedi Knight into her home. It was over a cup of tea that the Jedi explained that her little boy was a force sensitive, just like her, but with a much higher count than she and that the Jedi would be more than happy to admit him into their ranks if she were to agree.
It was a complete shock to her, for she had not seen nor felt any sign of this. In fact, at first she had thought that his was no Jedi. She had thought that Tonel was just trying to take her first born child from her. That he had somehow killed a Jedi, stolen his clothes and lightsaber and made his way into her home. It wasn't until a human boy, no older than fifteen years old, entered the room. This boy was named Skyan and was in fact Tonel's Padawan.
The human boy seemed to understand the new mother much better than Tonel ever could. He told her that Daniel would be perfectly safe in the Temple, safer than he would ever be anywhere else, and that by letting Daniel go he could save hundreds of lives within the rest of her lifespan. It was after a talk with the human boy that she reluctantly sent her first born son with the Jedi, hoping that her partner would understand that she was doing the right thing.
New Younglings Roam These Halls Daniel and his best friend, Lute Gunon, began to train in the way of the lightsaber when he was four years old. From the begining, Dan showed great skill in the hand to hand combat, however he struggled when it came to sensing objects while blindfolded, something that was often seen in Yoda's class when he was constantly hit by the little lazer bolts.
After one particularly frustrating afternoon, where he managed to deflect none of the lazers fired at him, he headed straight to the gardens, needing an opportunity to be on his own. While the five year old sat on the bench, Skyan made his first introduction to the boy. The nearly knighted male sat next to the boy.
"Lessons difficult?"
After a slight nod by the young boy, Skyan spent the three days he had in Coruscant helping the young boy with his lessons whether it be something as simple as reading or in using the force. It was from that day that the two had a very special bond and Skyan continued to tutor him as much as he could. This tutoring helped him to stay amongst the middle of his class.
Me? A Padawan? His life continued in very much the same way for the next seven years. Going to classes. Getting extra help from Skyan. Sparring with his best friend. Well that is until he became the age of twelve. That is when for the first time the truth hit him.
He had one year to be chosen to become a Padawan.
That was about the time that he began to really hit the books. He spent less time joking around with his friends. Less time sparring and more time in the library, reading up on the force and various different forms. If he were to be chosen to be a padawan, he wasn't going to be a dumb one.
However he need not to worry.
Two months after that faithful day in June that marked his twelth year of life, Skyan returned once again to the Temple. It began like any other tutor session. A spar. Some theory. And some work with the force afterwards. But it didn't end like the others. This time, before Daniel could leave, Skyan asked him to become his padawan.
At first he was speechless, his mouth flapping in the breeze awaiting a fly. But eventually the initial shock was over and he regained the ability to speak.
At first it was a stutter with gestures, then full words passed from his lips expressing that he'd gladly be his Padawan and the gratitude that he felt towards the Jedi Knight. Time passed quicker than ever that year and before he knew it he was standing in the hangar bay, saying farewell to his best friend Lute who was one of the few younglings of his year that wasn't chosen by a knight.
And then the real hard work began.
The Life of a Padawan It didn't take him long to realize that the life of a Padawan wasn't all fun and games. In fact, it took him all of a week to realize it. There was barely any down time. And when there was, Skyan used it to further his skills to a more... acceptable level. But his training was fun. The Theory was actual life experiance. The sparring took place between him and his master wasn't blind folded.
Each month, Daniel's skills improved. And eventually he was trusted to do tasks on his own. First they were small things like 'guard this entrance' or 'keep an eye on that boy for me while I speak with his father' but gradually he was trusted more and more to a level where Skyan would trust him to protect their client while he did some scouting of the Area.
It was near the end of his time as a padawan that he began to feel the dark side of the force growing in strength. In fact he could recall in great detail how his first incounter with it had disrupted his concentration during a spar with Skyan, allowing Skyan to strike him and score a point for the first time in three months.
Knighthood One day, during their abnormally long stay in the Temple, Daniel was summoned to the Council where they informed him that he was to undergo the Trials. From there he was then led to the Trials Chamber,
It was then that his first trial, the trial of skill, took place. Out of the fog in the southern end of the chamber, a red lightsaber ignited and out from the fog stepped his best friend. A furious duel occured with Daniel being rather confused as to why Lute would do such a thing. Never once did he fall for one of his friend's attempts to bring forth a form of agression. It wasn't until he had beheaded Lute's head that he discovered that it was actually a simulacrum.
As he sat cross legged upon the chamber's floor, regaining the breath that he had lost, he was informed that he had already passed the Trial of Courage and of flesh, having taken a blaster shot (whilst disarmed of his lightsaber) to protect a young girl by the name of Mary Quelant that had been under the care of the order.
He then passed on to the fourth trial. The Trial of Spirit. It didn't take long for the deep meditation to take its hold. He was hanging by three fingers off of a cliff, no lightsaber in sight, unable to make contact with the force or with Skyan. And above him stood none other than a malicious seven foot Sith who constantly repeated how he had let down his friends. He was falling through the air when a firm grip on his shoulder pulled him out of his trance. It was the hand of Master Windu.
"Passed you have."
Daniel's Trial of Insight was unique. He was placed before a throng of dead bodies (which was just another simulacrum) and was urged that amungst them is something hidden. His task was to find it. In actual fact. The hidden object was a brick upon the floor set beneath the throng of dead bodies. At first, Daniel (who was already mentally exhausted from the Trial of Spirit) frantically searched the images of the deceased for some small thing hidden.
It wasn't until he was two hours into the trial that an old memory from his days as a youngling days entered his head. Once again he took a seat and began to meditate, entrusting himself to the Force and using it to see, just like he had during those blindfolded sparring matches with his fellow younglings.
"A brick lies beneath them. 4 meters to my right, 5 meters before me."
He opened his eyes then, hoping he had seen what they wished him to. A moment of silence passed before they announced him as a fully fledged Jedi Knight, one week to the day before the battle of Genosis.
A Terrible Loss One week later, while the newly knighted Daniel was reporting back on a mission he had gone on solo to the Council, they were interrupted by an urgent message. This informed them that help was needed on the planet of Genosis.
Daniel was tasked with gathering as many knights and their padawans as he could within ten minuets and to prepare for battle. He ran from the room, after giving a polite bow to the masters, and began his hunt. First he attempted to contact Skyan using the force, a technique that his master had just began to teach him before the trials, and somehow managed to succeed. The sucess was shortly celebrated however as he passed on the word to prepare for battle.
As he tore into the rooms he continued contacting others in such a manner. Often failing. By the end of the ten minuets, he was on his way to join the battle of Genosis with the hundreds of other Jedi.
They were outnumbered on Genosis. Each moment melted into the next, however there was always one that remained independant of the rest. The Death of Skyan.
They had been overwhelmed and retreated until eventually they were back to back. They remained like this for numerous moments until suddenly he felt no pressure against his back. It wasn't until after the battle had calmed down that he realized that the man he had come to acknowledge as a father figure was dead.
Burn Me At The Stake In a matter of days his whole life had been turned upside down. War had begun, but he was empty inside. His aster and father figure was dead. And he would never laugh with him again.
For days he couldn't speak, the image of Skyan's body burning replaying constantly in his mind. For days he couldn't sleep. Daniel was truly broken and it was a wonder why he hadn't come across losing his life-long friend during his Trial of Spirit.
A week had passed and although bacta patches had healed all of the physical wounds upon his body, his mind had only just begun to heal. Slowly he was regaining the ability of speech and sleep. Not only that buut slowly he was able to return to a daily routine.
Daniel... Meet the nineteenth Three weeks had passed since the battle and Daniel was no longer mortified by the image of a burning body. He could sleep through the nights without having nightmares or no sleep at all. He could speak without stuttering. And he could fight.
It was those factors that became the reason he was declared fit for duty. He was summoned before the council and was informed that not only had he been granted the rank of Jedi Specialist but also that due to his strengths involving blasters, he had been asigned to the nineteenth Battalian as part of the sniper unit.
He has been working alongside Alisanna, Obi-wan, Anakin, and Reno ever since.

And he intended to keep it that way, despite the budding black eye.
Slowly he twisted the door knob and walked into his brother's home in the Victor's village. It was some family member of a past tribute that had done this to him. He had been jealous. Jealous of the fact that the Capitol had reason to keep Raven alive and not their own family member. And so, before the sixteen year old could react, he had been punched and was now sporting a black eye from it all.
He dropped his school bag to the floor, knowing that it was part of Odette's job to clean up after him and began to make his way to the kitchen. He just hoped she didn't see his black eye and start writing questions for him to answer...
