Peace is a lie, there is only passion. Through passion, I gain strength. Through strength, I gain power. Through power, I gain victory. Through victory, my chains are broken. The Force shall free me.
What does this all mean?
Peace is a lie, there is only passion.
To the Sith, peace represents restraint from emotion and passion. And to deny passion is to deny the pleasures and purposes of living, for all Sith believe that to live to to experience passion, and to subdue passion is to die, or become robotic. Thus, to accept peace was to accept death, or accept the loss of what it was to live.
Through passion, I gain strength.
Very similar to the first, passion is linked directly to strength in that a Sith believes their own strength to come from their passion for their strength and goals. Implying that the mind is one of the most powerful tools available to a Sith, Sith are encourage to dwell upon their passions and dreams, focus upon them, and let nothing get in the way of this. Through devotion to their passions, they acquire the strength t overcome barriers that may impede them.
Through strength, I gain power.
Very similar to the prior, the correlation between strength and power is obvious to most. When one possess the strength, they need only harness it and convert it to the appropriate power. In this, the more 'passion' a Sith has, the more power they can potentially build, for their passion is the foundation upon which all things build.
Through power, I gain victory.
The relation between power and victory is an easy one; in all matters of struggle and strife, the one with superior power generally triumphs over the weaker. Though this delves deeper than who is simply 'stronger', as there are many types of strengths. Regardless, the Sith believe that to accumulate power is to ensure ones victory in all endeavors, which is always the ultimate goal of acquiring power. Sith believe that there is nothing that cannot be solved with power.
Through victory, my chains are broken.
The most discussed of Sith ideologies, the Sith ultimately believe that through victory, they are freed from whatever bonds they wish to be freed from. The Sith strive to acquire whatever power it is that they need to overcome anything holding them down - and do so. Sith do not believe that all restrictions upon themselves need be broken; basics such as gravity or the need for sustenance are often accepted. It is the ones that limit them in their quest for power and perfection that are broken.
The Force shall free me.
Everything circles back to the Force. The Force aids the Sith in their passions. It allows them to acquire strength. Gives them the ability to harness this strength as raw power. Utilize this power to ascertain victory, and break the bond that weight them down. Thus, the Force is always responsible for the freedoms they seek and acquire.
