These Ranks only apply to Sentient beings serving in the CIS Military and Navy. Droid ranking is quite a bit simpler, there are Battle Droids and Command Droids. As such, we won't be going into great detail in this page about Droids.
Navy
Supreme Commander
Supreme Commander was a high rank borne by military and paramilitary officers in the service of most of the major Galactic powers of the Imperial and post-Imperial eras. Most Supreme Commanders were usually the senior-most Admiral in a navy.
Admiral
The title of Admiral signified senior command rank in many navies and starfleets. Admirals, also known generally as flag officers, were typically responsible for a high level military command at battle group or fleet level, and/or for administrative and political duties relating to naval operations.
Captain
The title or rank of captain was often used in military organizations and some civilian contexts, and typically indicated an individual with leadership responsibilities.
Lieutenant Commander
Lieutenant Commander was a military rank used by several navies that ranked in between Lieutenant and Commander. Given that a Naval Lieutenant (as a rule) equates to an Army Captain, a Lieutenant Commander equates roughly to a Major.
Lieutenant
Lieutenant was a rank widely used in military, paramilitary or police organizations, normally borne by low-ranking commissioned officers. It was higher than a Second Lieutenant and lower than a Captain.
Ensign
Ensign was the lowest rating of officer within most space navies, being bestowed upon a being immediately after graduating from a service academy. Ensigns typically were given supervisory positions over enlisted crew, however they were too junior to actually have a command billet.
Enlisted
This is the lowest rank in the CIS navy, in general it applied to any human crewmen without officer status.
Army
General
General was a high-level military rank, often denoting the commander of an army. It was widely used among the armed forces of both major galactic powers and more localized militaries.
Major General
Major General was a military rank, a junior or mid-ranking grade of General.
Colonel
Colonel was a military rank used by planet-based forces (such as the Imperial Army) as well as certain Starfighter Corps. Colonels ranked below generals and above majors, and were equivalent in rank to the naval rank of captain.
Major
Major was a military rank used by ground and commando forces (such as the Imperial Army) and also by many starfighter corps.
Captain
The title or rank of captain was often used in military organizations and some civilian contexts, and typically indicated an individual with leadership responsibilities.
First Lieutenant
Lieutenant was a rank widely used in military, paramilitary or police organizations, normally borne by low-ranking commissioned officers. It was higher than a Second Lieutenant and lower than a Captain.
Second Lieutenant
Second Lieutenant was a lesser grade of lieutenant, below First Lieutenant.
Private First Class
Basic enlisted soldier with known combat experience and distinction.
Private
