At this time, the Galactic Republic is in a state of war against the Confederacy of Independent Systems, otherwise known as the Separatists. Chancellor Palpatine has been elected as the Senate’s Supreme Chancellor, and has been granted emergency powers to deal with this movement in a motion introduced by Naboo representative Jar Jar Binks. His first move has been to create a vast army of clone warriors to serve as the Republic’s fighting force against the Confederacy. Before now we have not need an army, since any small conflicts within the Republic have been able to be resolved before by the peacekeeping Jedi Order. However, the fact the Confederacy has access now to an enormous army of droid soldiers means the Republic is in need of a more formal, federal military in order to effectively fight. We are aware of Senator’s within the Senate that are unhappy with this step forwards, preferring instead to seek diplomatic solutions rather than the more violent meeting of forces in order to end this war before it can begin its path of destruction.
The Jedi Order remains aligned to the Galactic Senate’s side, and have been called in to stand alongside our Clone Troopers to lead the forces into battle and on to victory.
Times from now will be tough, people of the Galactic Republic, but we ask that you stand tall and proud at our side and do all you can to help us overcome this terrible threat. Planets will be won and lost in battle, many numbers of Clone Troopers and Jedi alike will be lost to the war, and the crisis will get worse before it can get better. But understand this. As one, we will overcome all that stands against us, and the galaxy will again be restored to peace and balance.
The Clone Wars have begun.
