V-19 Torrent
This is an assault starfighter with exceptional speed and maneuverability, piloted by Clone Pilots. It is unique in that it has two pairs of folding airfoils (S-Foils) that give the ship added maneuverability and provide pilots with easy access to the cockpits sliding canopy. The lower, hinged S-foils coupled with enhanced repulsorlift engines makes the V-19 an exceptional vertical take-off and landing fighter. Its armament consists of two blaster cannons (One on each wingtip) and two concussion missile launchers. The number of concussion missiles carried by the V-19 is currently unknown but it is at least 6. It was initially designed as a short-range fighter, but republic technicians have added a Class 1 hyperdrive to equip the vessel for escort missions, some modified even to use Syluire-31 hyperspace docking rings. Many of the hyperdrive-less fighters are still in service however.
The prototypes were used during the Battle of Geonosis, and due to their success have been hurried into production to fill the gap evidenced by the LAAT gunships’ ineffectiveness against enemy starfighters. Due to the months of training it takes for the Clone Trooper Pilots to become proficient with the vessel however, this fighter will not be available in large numbers for some of the more early engagements of the Clone Wars we will encounter.
ARC ReConnaissance-170 Starfighter
This is a heavy starfighter/bomber. It has a narrow spaceframe flanked by large engines, also possessing an S-foil system which helps to radiate heat – something which aides the fighter’s shielding. It also provides additional stability during atmospheric flight. Using its front deflector shield projectors to disperse heat generated from air resistance, the ARC-170 can reach supersonic speeds in atmospheric flight. It is a large, rugged ship capable of long independent operations.
It is often sent on dangerous scout missions and raids deep in enemy territory and is equipped with a Class 1.5 hyperdrive – its nose filled with powerful sensors, scanners and jammers in order for them to be able to fulfill these missions. It carries enough consumables for five days of operation however carrying these supplies and additional equipment means the ARC-170 is quite slow. Durable armor and shielding, as well as two tail guns, help the ARC-170 to survive when surrounded by swarms of smaller, faster enemy fighters although it remains vulnerable to enemy anti-fighter guns.
It carries six proton torpedoes and wingtip-mounted medium laser cannons that are unusually large for a starfighter. They are often used as the heavy hitters in strike forces, escorted by V-Wings and ETA-2s. It is crewed by three clones – a pilot, a forward gunner who operates the wingtip-mounted lasters and a tail gunner who operates the rear-mounted cannons. It also carries an astromech droid to perform onboard repairs and navigation.
Clone Z-95 Starfighter
This starfighter is piloted by Clone Trooper Pilots and boasts great speed and maneuverability due to its sleek design and is employed largely by the Republic Navy. It sits at 16.74 meters in length, with a long nose extending from a single-pilot cockpit. Its two engine units were mounted on its double wings, with a laser cannon positioned on each angular wingtip, leading to a wingspan of 18.13 meters. As further armament, it is equipped with recessed torpedo launchers while it also possesses three feet as landing gear. They are commonly painted white and crimson and has a similar piloting control system to the ARC-170 starfighter.
They are intended for starfighter combat and has a reputation for speed and effective maneuverability. They are often deployed into battle in groups of three, and are also used to escort bulkier craft during a battle such as LAAT/i Gunships and Space Gunships. When not in use, Z-95 starfighters can be stored aboard large capital ship transports like the Acclamator I-class assault ship.
Low Altitude Assault Transport (LAAT Gunship)
This gunship is an engineering masterpiece that has taken years to produce. The Kaminoans had to overcome many tasks that faced them from new weapon designs to stability issues. They use repulsorlift turbines located in the wings and base of the transport which provides stability against the anti-aircraft weapons deployed by the CIS. They also created a new weapon that can bring mass damage to the battlefield that has an ion repeater which creates a beam to chop through buildings and people. The problem with it however, is that it is prone to constant overheating. Thankfully, the Kaminoans came up with the idea to have the side mounted and wing mounted turrets controlled manually with their own mass drive engine. This meant that the weapon won’t overheat the main engine.
It is designed to carry up to 30 Clone Troopers into combat and support them. It has a rear hanger than can hold up to 4 speeder bikes to support reconnaissance operations or search and rescue missions. They are in-atmosphere only vehicles, requiring cruisers to land somewhere on the planet to launch though it is common practice for cruisers to dip into the atmosphere and let the LAAT fly to the target zone and be gone before combat even started. Some versions of the gunship include bacta tanks for medical transportation.
The gunship's many weapon systems are designed for both air-to-air combat and air-to-ground support. For long range or slow/fixed targets the LAAT uses 2 mass-driver missile launchers (atop the craft) which held a variable payload depending on the mission. 4 light air-to-air missiles hang below each wing (8 in total) for any in-flight targets. 4 composite-beam pinpoint laser turrets - 2 of which are manned by clone troopers and the other two remote controlled by the co-pilot/gunner (on each wing) has a wide field of rotation and can serve in both air-to-air and air-to-ground operations. 3 anti-personnel turrets (2 at the front, one at the rear of the craft) support further ground operations by ensuring a clear path for the deployment of troops or vehicles.
The LAAT is so maneuverable that only the most mobile of enemy craft can keep one in its sights, even experience pilots have found it impossible to avoid its numerous weapons.
Low Altitude Assault Transport/infantry (LAAT/i Gunship)
These are often referred to as the Republic Attack Gunship or Republic Gunship and is a specialized gunship designed for aerial-based support and infantry transportation. It is affectionately known between the Clone Troopers as the “Larty”.
It is a repulsorlift infantry transport capable of carrying up to thirty troopers. Secondary functions include reconnaissance, direct fire support, search-and-recovery, and low-altitude air-to-ground and air-to-air strikes against vehicles ranging from airspeeders to starfighters. In addition to its trooper complement, housed on a deckplate protected by drooping wings and a sliding side door, the LAAT/i can carry four military speeder bikes in an aft-deployable rack. The crew is comprised of a Clone Trooper Pilot and co-pilot/forward gunner in the hunchbacked cockpit, and two auxiliary gunners stationed in pinpoint composite-beam turrets extending on articulated arms from the troop cabin. An IM-6 medical droid is commonly carried aboard in an emergency locker and in an emergency, the cockpit capsule can separate from the main craft to act as an escape pod.
The LAAT/i is a fully armed gun platform, with a complete arsenal of weaponry that consists of three anti-personnel laser turrets, two forward-facing, one covering the stern hatch; two top-mounted mass-driver missile launchers fed by rear-mounted ordnance belts and commonly loaded with short-range homing missiles, HE (high explosive), HEAP (High Explosive Armor-Piercing) and APF (anti-personnel fragmentation) rounds; four composite-beam, pin-point laser turrets, two of which are automated bubble-turrets located on either wing, and eight light air-to-air rockets stowed on the underside of each wing. They are also equipped with atmospheric containment shielding and can be deployed from space, yet can’t reach orbit altitude without a carrier vessel. Its optimal fighting range is in the lower atmosphere, where they can reach speeds in excess of 600km/h. A single Acclamator-class assault ship can carry up to eighty LAAT-series gunships while a Venator-class Star Destroyer has space for half that complement. The LAAT/i is highly effective, but lacks large amounts of armor which makes it a vulnerable target.
When approaching a target, the main cabin lights up red which serves as a visual indicator for Clone Troopers to stand by and conduct last-moment preparations including checking their ammunition and communication systems. Once touching down, the red lights change to green, signalling clearance to debark. Within the main cabin are various handles attached to cables hanging from the ceiling. When the gunship’s hatches are open, Clone Troopers hold onto these to help keep their balance while the gunship is in flight. In the case of rapid deployment, Clone Troopers can hang onto these as the cables are lowered to the ground for quick deployment so the LAAT/i will not need to land. However, during this process, both the Clone Troopers and the gunship itself are vulnerable to enemy fire, so landing and debarking in the regular manner is the more common way to deploy troops.
Low Altitude Assault Transport/carrier (LAAT/c Gunship)
This gunship is designed primarily to airlift assault walkers and other heavy cargo into battle. It is similar in design to the LAAT/i version though the carrier gunship has had the infantry model’s troop hold removed. It features heavy-lift antigrav drives that hold payloads in place under the main hull. Its wide wingspan allows for maximum distribution of repulsorlift vanes when carrying heavy weights. Most of the LAAT/i’s weapons are not present on this model, leaving only the three anti-personnel laser turrets. Its heavy magnets can hold AT-TE’s and more.
Low Altitude Assault Transport/vehicle (LAAT/v)
This gunship is specially made to hold up to 16 74-Z Speeder bikes among other means of transportation. It is similar to the LAAT/c in the sense that they both carry vehicles rather than clones into battle. Each LAAT/v has three anti-personnel laser cannons and in some cariants, two composite beam leaser cannons in the wings.
Low Altitude Assault Transport/stealth (LAAT/s)
These are Stealth Versions of the LAAT’s.
Unstable Terrain Artillery Transport (UT-AT)
Also known as the ‘Trident’, this is a military transport and assault vehicle that is put into action when the use of walkers is unsuitable. Slow and vulnerable, this vehicle is adept at crossing bridges and traversing unstable terrain, but due to its elevated position it is constantly prone to enemy attack. It employs the use of a repulsorlift ski system, which involves a series of undulating panels that adapt to the different terrains - 16 low-power repulsorlift skis in total – that shift to properly balance the vehicle depending on the terrain. Four additional repulsorlift plates are located under the main carriage for propulsion. The skis also have the ability to reverse their repulsion, causing gription fields and allowing the vehicle to ascend sheer surfaces if needed. They also supply superior stability when firing, and are particularly effective on unstable terrain. Although the skis cancel out the weight of the vehicle, it is still difficult to maneuver due to its significant inertial mass. It limits also the recommended speed of the craft to just 45 km/h. The skis are blast-proof which make them invulnerable to light blaster fire, however not to explosive charges. A significant amount of heat is generated by the undulating plates, which is compensated for by an air vent located towards the front of the vehicle.
For armament, the UT-AT has three forward-facing cannons: one dorsal anti-infantry cannon, and two side-mounted medium cannons. This configuration has earned it the nickname "Trident." Bomblet generators are also installed, allowing drivers to unleash a maelstrom of ion-charged destruction on opposing droid armies. Shells and other artillery are stored externally on racks. Standard configuration UT-ATs also feature four anti-personnel turrets in the rear of the craft, although variants feature supplies to bolster the vehicle's standard bomblet generators, while others store temporary bridge equipment and kits. This configuration allows UT-ATs to forge a path over unsteady terrain while placing a suitable track for the heavier walkers.
The cockpit of the UT-AT has positions for a driver and a gunner, who would operate the two side cannons. Twenty additional troops can be transported in the front half of the vehicle, where the bulk of the internal machinery is also held. Scanning equipment is located under the cockpit, providing the driver with ample data relevant to their field of view. The rear is padded with heavy armor and stations for the anti-personnel gunners, although this changes with alternate variants.
BTL-B Y-Wing Starfighter
These starfighters fly combat missions. It has a full covering of both the primary fuselage and engines, and a bubble turret which provides a clear view for the gunner with a 360-degree field of fire. It is designed as a bomber, using weapons such as proton bombs. The bubble-turret utilizes two light ion cannons for defense against enemy starfighters and it is also equipped with two medium laser cannons mounted on the front of the starfighter. They possess a hyperdrive system allowing them to jump into hyperspace without the reliance of a carrier of hyperspace ring and also make use of an astromech droid.
Nu-Class Attack Shuttle
This is a faster, long-range supplementary design to the standard LAAT gunship line. This ship has heavier armor and shielding then most atmospheric craft but unlike the LAAT can only carry 30 clone troopers where the latter can carry that and four speeder bikes in addition. This shuttle also lacks the missile launchers of the LAAT/i and as a result is not a complete replacement for them. It has been designed with fold-down wings, similar to fighters like the V-19 Torrent. Its boarding hatch is located at the front of the shuttle, in what could be described as the vessel’s ‘chin’. It also is fitted with a tractor beam and holding clamp.
All Terrain Tactical Enforcer (AT-TE)
These are often referred to as tanks by Clone Troopers and are an all terrain assault walker. It is a multi-purpose assault vehicle capable of tasks ranging from the transportation of platoons of Clone Troopers around a battlefield to full-scale attacks upon enemy installations. The vehicle perfoms most admirably in support roles that involve providing immediate cover fire for battalions of soldiers. AT-TE’s are often deployed in large numbers to overwhelm the enemy through sheer volume of fire.
The rear internal compartment is cramped and contains a number of computer consoles which include a holographic communication system allowing for representations of commanders to be projected inside the vehicle. On the standard model, troopers are located in the forward and rear compartments with large doors present in the back which open to allow soldiers to exit the vehicle. A top door allows a soldier to observe the battlefield from the top of the walker. On a variant model, the rear-ward compartment can store two AT-RT walkers capable of being deployed from a lower landing door.
It is impervious to ion damage due to built-in electromagnetic shielding. Its average speed is 60 kph (37.2 mph). This plodding pace allows it to penetrate energy shields, a feat that is impossible for repulsorlift craft. Effective in numerous terrains and environments, some models of the walker are even capable of scaling vertical cliffs. They can even be useful in space combat, able to be deployed on asteroids. An AT-TE contains enough fuel to stride at full speed for over 500 kilometers and possesses enough scrubbed air and military rations to last its crew for three weeks out in the harsh conditions of the battlefield. Seven specially-trained crew members are needed in order for the vehicle to function properly. The pilot works the six legs of the walker, while a spotter utilizes several sensor stations to ascertain the locations of hostile units and primary objectives. The spotter then has to relay this information to the four gunners nestled at the gun stations within the heavily-armored hull of the walker. A final crew member has to sit behind the controls of the heavy cannon atop the AT-TE, partially exposed to enemy fire. Ten clone trooper passengers can be held in each section of the walker (20 total). In addition, an IM-6 medical droid is located in the back of the AT-TE for emergency medical treatment.
The largest weapon is the enormous mass-driver cannon. This cannon can be loaded with an array of heavy energy weapons and solid shells, depending on the specifications of the mission. The payloads of the gun can range from burrowing bunker busters to heat-seeking missiles to sonic charges. However, it has a comparatively slow rate of fire and variable accuracy. Six smaller laser cannons are strategically placed along the vehicle. Four are located in a square pattern around the cockpit, while two more are placed in the rear to cover the flanks and help secure dropoff points for the platoons contained within. These troopers are essential to the survival of the AT-TE when the walker came under fire from enemy infantry units that are too small to be accurately targeted by the main cannons.
Regardless of its heavy armor, the AT-TE is not invulnerable. Due to weak points in the underbelly of the vehicle, a single direct hit by a rocket from a Hailfire droid is capable of disabling an AT-TE, and they are also highly vulnerable to air attacks. However its high silhouette makes it easier to target by enemies. One of its design flaws is that it is low to the ground, so the turret gunner's protection of the vulnerable underside is limited. The low ground clearance of this vehicle also makes it susceptible to mines exploding beneath the walker.
Special sockets for the AT-TE were created onboard Acclamator-class assault ships. While any Republic spacecraft can transport these walkers through space, a variant of the LAAT/i gunship, the LAAT/c, has to be used to ferry these vehicles down to battlefields.
All Terrain Heavy Enforcer (AT-HE)
A military walker made to complement the AT-TE. It is designed to have a more upright stance which makes the walker less vulnerable to mines, and gives gunners a wider field of fire and vision as compared to the AT-TE. Since it has legs, it has less surface area to distribute its weight however, which means it can get stuck more easily than wheeled or tracked vehicles.
All Terrain Open Transport (AT-OT)
This is a walking troop carrier, differing from other walkers in the AT-series as it is not designed for combat, instead it is used to reinforce armies behind friendly lines as a cargo walker. Although these eight-legged walkers are well-armored and equipped with four laser cannons for defense, their open tops make them extremely vulnerable to attacks from above. AT-OT walkers have enough seats for at least 34 clone troopers, but they can carry more troops if required thanks to the open-bed design. The vehicle’s defenses include two forward cannons and two tail cannons. The AT-OT is not used for attack, mainly used for carrying vast amounts of clone troopers onto the battlefield. It can also be carried by a Low Altitude Assault Transport/carrier gunship into battle. The LAAT/c hull protects the open top, but only until the walker is released.
All Terrain Personal Transport (AT-PT)
This is a light infantry walker designed decades before the Clone Wars began that has fallen into use now as the need for a small, anti-personnel walker has arisen. They are made to take a single trooper into an intense combat situation on his own, standing at only three meters tall. It is heavily armoured when you consider its intended threat – enemy soldiers, enough so that most small fire arms can’t penetrate the craft’s armor. It is armed with twin blaster cannons and one concussion grenade launcher which are only effective against infantry. Its light armour thus allows for superior agility.
TX-130 Saber-Class Fighter Tank
This is a maneuverable, fast-attack tank used by Jedi and Clone forces alike. It is equipped with twin laser cannons and a large payload of concussion missiles. Some models have a beam cannon turret on top. With a limited speed boost, Jedi pilots can remove themselves from tight combat situations and then use the powerful optical zoom on the main turret to eliminate vehicles and personnel from a safe distance. Some are also equipped with an onboard R2 unit.
It is sometimes referred to as the Jedi Starfighter of the ground, as in the hands of Jedi the tanks prove a match for many separatist armoured vehicles.
Heavy Assault Vehicle/wheeled A6 Juggernaut
The A6 Jauggernaut measures 30.4 meters in height and 49.4 meters in length. Its interior space is greatly increased to allow for up to 300 troopers and equipment, a complement of close support craft such as speeder bikes and light airspeeders, or a mix of both. A combination of twelve crew members are required to pilot and control the massive vehicle, although with an automation package that requirement could be reduced to just two pilots.
With thick, thermally superconducting armor (capable of absorbing enemy fire and dispersing heat over a wide area) and a heavier load, the A6 Juggernaut can only achieve 160 kilometers per hour. The slowness required for negotiating turns encourages the A6's use on open terrain rather than urban battlefields.
Weapons systems include a heavy laser cannon turret, a rapid repeating laser cannon, two medium antipersonnel laser cannons, two twin antipersonnel blaster cannons, and two turreted projectile launchers, loadable with variable-yield concussion grenades for close support or missiles added for anti-armor firepower. Missile range is 30km. Against an unshielded target; a Juggernaut could deliver the heat of a nuclear bomb into a small area. From a small pod above the vehicle's back, a spotter keeps lookout for enemy forces. Though there is a large view of the area, he is an easy target for hostile troops. This observation mast can be retracted when not in use.
105-K Lancer Bike
More commonly known as lancer swoop bikes, they are made specifically for lancer trooper squads to carry them during their covert raids and jousting duels. They are small speeder craft painted white to match the armor of the clone troopers that ride them. The model lacks a safety harness therefore the impact of a lance against an obstacle can well be expected to unseat the rider. It can attain speeds of several hundred kilometers per hour and can at high speeds, climb steep cliffs.
BARC Speeder
This is a powerful speeder bike used as a reconnaissance craft and designed for exclusive use by the ARC Troopers. They are painted the red and white colors of the Galactic Republic and are powered by repulsors and a turbine engine mounted on the frontal prong. The speeder is controlled via twin steering vanes atop the bike and pedals fitted below. Two blaster cannons protrude from the bottom of the forward prong, while two more are fixed on either side of the vehicle’s rear. They are capable of flying at high altitudes and are sometimes used as escorts for LAAT/i gunships carrying important passengers.
All Terrain Recon Transport (AT-RT)
This is a one-man bipedal walker used for reconnaissance and patrolling. It stands at 3.2 meters tall and 2.9 meters long with a saddle like seat for a single clone trooper driver. Its open cockpit design makes the driver especially vulnerable to sniper fire, a noteable flaw, but low costs and good visibility of the battlefield makes up for this shortcoming. It is equipped with a nose-mounted repeating blaster cannon and mortar launcher both of which make the walker a formidable anti-infantry unit, although a group of 4 walkers could easily overpower a single AAT. It is also fitted with a motion detection scanner and sensor equipment capable of providing Forward Command Centers with updated situation reports from the battlefield. ARC Troopers are the ones specifically to pilot these walkers.
All Terrain Experimental Transport (AT-XT)
This is an experimental armoured assault walker equipped with twin laser cannons mounted under its chin and two long-range proton mortar launchers. As a defensive measure, some units are also equipped with a plasma shield capable of absorbing enemy fire for a short period of time. In spite of its reasonably slow speed of only 75 km/h it is capable of demolishing enemy columns.
Republic Air Cruiser
The term air cruiser denotes a type of long ranged aerial artillery that is utalized by both the Republic and the CIS. They are a type of very large, atmospheric and occasionally spacebourne combat repulsorcraft. They are heavily armoured and mount a single large, siege-type of weapon similar to a turbolaser which causes significant damage to anything caught in its blast radius, however they are very slow and cumbersome.
While a group of these can lay waste to an enemy encampment, troop formation or military base in a relatively short order despite their slow rate of fire, they are extremely vulnerable to starfighters and other types of armed airspeeders. In addition, if air cruisers wander too near, they can also be shot down by air defense turrets or soldiers equipped with surface-to-air missiles. Due to this, they are often escorted by smaller, swifter craft capable of dealing with potential airborne threats.
74-Z Speeder Bike
These speeder bikes are used for reconnaissance purposes as well as for rapid transportation in combat zones. They are capable of reaching speeds up to and beyond 500 km/h and have a flight ceiling of 25 meters. They are controlled by handlebars located towards the front of the vehicle and foot pedals slung underneath adjust speed and altitude. They are highly maneuverable vehicles equipped with sensor and communications devices located between the handlebars, including a comlink and a comlink-jamming device. They have a forward rotating blaster cannon for combat and are equipped also with a very powerful boost that can propel the vehicles over vast distances in a shorter amount of time. They are capable of being deployed from LAAT/i gunships.
A5-RX Battle Tank
Also known as the A5-Recon Juggarnaut, is has great speed and maneuverability across the battlefront. It is small, but well armed as it is equipped with a pair of dual repeating blasters, a rear beam laser cannon and a dorsal spread missile turret that can fire six missiles per round. It is equipped with tracks instead of wheels which allow for the better maneuverability and has a cruising speed of 13 megalights, and can speed up to 16MGLT for short amounts of time. It can hold a crew of up to five beings, the first being a pilot to steer the vehicle during battles, 4 gunners – the first two operating the juggernauts forward blaster turrets and the third who controls its rear beam laser and the fourth who manages the tank’s dorsal spread missile launcher.
CK-6 Swoop Bike
This is a type of swoop bike used by Clone Cold Assault Troopers in cold temperature environments. It includes two sets of landing gears for more secure operation on icy terrain. They are repulsorlift vehicles which possess an integrated windscreen to defelct the snow and air of their operational environment. They can operate even when the most intense blizzards keep Republic Gunships grounded however without constant maintenance and car even a night on Orto Plutonia can freeze a bike’s system solid.
Gaba-18 Airspeeder
Widely known as the Republic Recon Speeder, it is an airspeeder used for frontline operations on contested and enemy worlds. It is painted in the red and white hues adopted by the Grand Army of the Republic and features a cockpit protected by a bubble canopy that can seat a single pilot. It is lightly shielded and features a blaster cannon mounted on the forward hull. It is deployed to support frontline operations, often scouting ahead in advance of larger Republic vehicles. It can fly over a variety of terrain, including rocky landscapes.
High Altitude Entry Transport-221 (HAET-221)
This is a 17.2 meter long dropship, armed with antipersonnel blasters and a larger anti-vehicle laser cannon. These short range ships are launched from low orbit and use positional rockets to help them reach their target destinations. Once they enter the lower atmosphere, repulsorlifts units are used to propel these craft, and usually flies at a low altitude of several meters though it is capable of reaching an altitude of several kilometers. Once in a planet’s atmosphere, these ships are incapable of returning to space on their own. To help them reach their landing sites, these ships are equipped with advanced targeting arrays that can quickly map a planet’s surface. The mapping systems also allow it to perform secondary missions such as patrol, search and reconnaissance. They are equipped with at least one searchlight.
Republic Troop Transport
This is a ground transport, repulsorlift vehicle, armed with two laser cannons and two mass driver missile launchers for self-defense. It can be carried onboard an LAAT/c to quickly reach strategic point on the battlefield. It can carry 12 Clone Troopers, has 3 tons of Cargo Capacity and can carry enough consumables for 3 days.
Self-Propelled Heavy Artillery Walker (SPHA)
This is a modular heavy artillery unit that bears a resemblance to the smaller Republic stun tank. It has 12 legs and cannot be carried into battle by LAAT/c gunships because of its large size and weight. Instead they are deployed directly from landed Acclamator-class assault ships which can carry 36 of these artillery platforms. In battle, SPHA walkers receive orders from ground based command posts which provide a less isolated and more in-touch view of the battlefield than the towering walkers. In addition, they have a complement of 30 Clone Troopers which can be deployed rapidly via a dorsal hatch. In seconds, soldiers can disembark the vehicle and secure the area immediately around the walker, providing protection from enemy infantry and other light units.
The SPHA walker chassis serves as the basis for a number of different weapons platforms, though the best chronicled version is the turbolaser configuration. This variant’s main weapon was a heavy turbolaser cannon, capable of causing extreme direct fire damage to large or slow moving targets. The primary disadvantage of this powerful weapon however is that it is incapable of providing indirect fire support to out of sight locations. Another disadvantage is that the weapon could only be charged to a certain level – upon firing such shots they have to be replaced with charged guns from the rear lines.
This vehicle has other variants:
SPHA-I
The I stands for Ion Cannon, as it is equipped with one as the main weapon, with 12 anti-personnel blasters to augment the cannon. It has to manage ammunition carefully like all its other cousins.
SPHA-V (Anti-Vehicle Laser)
It is equipped with an Anti-Vehicle laser as the main weapon, with 12 anti-personnel blasters to augment the cannon. It has to manage ammunition carefully like all its other cousins.
SPHA-C (Concussion Missile Launcher)
It is equipped with a concussion missile launcher as the main weapon, with 12 anti-personnel blasters. It has to manage ammunition carefully like all its other cousins.
SPHA-M (Mass-Driver Cannon)
It is equipped with a Mass-Driver Cannon as the main weapon, with 12 anti-personnel blasters. It has to manage ammunition carefully like all its other cousins.
